August is Family History Month
Let’s celebrate the stories of us!
Calling all story‑keepers! Every August, genealogists, librarians and family historians around NZ celebrate Family History Month – four weeks devoted to discovering, honouring and sharing the memories that shaped us into who we are today. It’s a great opportunity to open up those old photo albums and ask those magic questions that start with “Do you know who this is…?” or “Do you remember when…”
What’s happening during Family History Month?
There are events happening all around NZ that you can attend. Most of them are free too! They include workshops, expos and beginner sessions so anyone can learn new ways to trace ancestors, preserve taonga and create richer family stories. August is the month to get started and find out more about your family history through the NZ Society of Genealogists events listed below:
